"The most discouraging thing about human beings is that they accept the idea of living a limited life. They see being weak, ill and unhappy as normal; they don’t imagine that life could be any different. Of course, none of us can completely escape the particular limitations nature imposes on us, but we can push these limitations back; we do not have to be forever in their grip or at their mercy. Not only is it possible to prolong positive states, positive conditions, we can also delay the onset of negative states, only we have to at least believe it is possible to do so. Unfortunately, when you observe people, you see them behaving as if hypnotized, as if a line had been drawn in front of them and they had been told, ‘That’s as far as you are going!’ And they believe it; they accept this limitation as inevitable. Well, no, it is not inevitable. But they do not know themselves; they are unaware of all the resources, all the powers, the Creator has placed in them, and there they remain, floundering. So, from now on, you should strive to push back the limits, and then you will feel and experience how much more capable you are than you thought."
"Each activity in daily life contains something for you to reflect upon. For example, you know that you need to devote at least a few minutes each day to keeping your house clean and tidy, or else life would soon become unbearable. Why, then, have you still not understood the need for cleaning and keeping order deep inside yourself, with the same patience, regularity and tenacity? Obviously, if your house has become too dirty, too cluttered or too dilapidated, you are always able to go and live somewhere else. But try moving outside of yourself! So, day in, day out, you must visit your heart of hearts and say, ‘Let’s see, is there anything wrong?’ and don’t leave anything lying around; don’t let the dust accumulate and the rubbish pile up. Otherwise, the day will come when it will be too late to put the situation right. You have to put your house in order every single day, several times a day, that is to say, restore order, purity, peace and harmony within yourself."

"In each human being there is something – call it a space – that nothing and no one, except God himself, will ever succeed in filling. You can fill this space, known as the heart, with all the beings and all the objects you like, but there will still be space, and you will feel a lack, an emptiness. Only God, who is limitless, infinite, can fill this void. When you have allowed God into your heart, every being and every thing will bring you joy because of the presence of God within you. So begin by opening your heart to the One who created you, and then there will be room for all other creatures. They will be welcome, and you will never again feel alone or abandoned."
